Risk Management – Club Staff, Boad Members and Volunteers
All adult coaches, managers, board members, trainers, officials and club volunteers are required by DYSA to complete annual risk management to participate in River Soccer Club activities with players.
Individuals must complete the following:
1. Create an account – If you do not have existing GotSport account, create a new account by providing the required information
2. Complete required training - SafeSport education training & Heads Up concussion training
3. Submit for a background check
Register in GotSport – Risk Management Registration
Coaches = Coaches, Trainers, officials and Volunteers
Managers = Managers and Board Members
Once your account has been set up, go to your dashboard and complete each of the requirements:
NOTE: you must complete both SafeSport and Heads Up before submitting for a Background Check

SafeSport Training will take approximately 60-75 minutes. Once the training is complete, you will receive a certificate verifying completion. Download a copy of this certificate for your records. Enter the code from the certificate and select 'check records' to confirm completion.
Heads Up Concussion Training will take approximately 20-30 minutes. Once the training is completed, it will be marked as ‘Fullfilled’ in GotSport.
Background Check request form includes personal information used to search national and local databases for criminal activities and/or actions in violation of SafeSport conduct requirements.

Why is SafeSport training required? SafeSport training ensures that all adults involved in youth sports are equipped to recognize and prevent abuse, harassment, and misconduct, providing a safe environment for athletes.
How long is SafeSport certification valid? Your certification is valid for one year and must be renewed annually to maintain compliance.
What happens if I don’t pass the background check? If you fail the background check, you will be ineligible to participate in any USYS-sanctioned activities involving minors. You may contact USYS for further instructions if there are discrepancies in the results.
